The highly anticipated film Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay and directed by H Vinoth, is set to release worldwide on January 9, 2026, ahead of the Pongal festival. Initially, Sithara Entertainments' Nagavamsi was supposed to release the Telugu version, Jana Nayakudu, but PVR Inox Pictures has now acquired the distribution rights for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Jana Nayagan will face tough competition in the Telugu speaking states, with Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and Prabhas' The Raja Saab also releasing during the Sankranti festival. The Hindi version, titled Jan Neta, is being distributed by Zee Studios in the North Indian region.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain. Anirudh is handling the music, while Sathyan Sooryan is the cinematographer. Jana Nayagan marks the first collaboration between Vijay and H Vinoth.
