Senior Tollywood producer Thammareddy Bharadwaja came up with sensational comments on the collections in Tollywood. He said that what people are witnessing and the reality at the ground level in collections are completely different.
He said after Baahubali, the calculations changed completey. He said Tollywood is boasting of Rs1000, Rs 1200 crs but there is hidden secret in it. Elaborating furter he said in the Rs 1000crs collections, majority share comes from Hindi dubbing and overseas and pointed out taht till now Telugu version of the film didnnot cross even Rs 300crs.
He said Tollywood market is still around Rs 200-Rs300crs and many are forgetting his stark reality. He said without knowing this reality, producers are increasing the budgets of the films. He said when Tollywood market is not even Rs 300crs, producers are increasing budgets and this resulting in huge losses for them.
He said producers are increasing the budgets confident of the film doing well in other langauges,and when that is not happening, producers are bearing the brunt. He also blasted the unnecessary costs in the films production.
He said unnessary extravaganza is goinng on in the shooting and for five artists, they are spending huge amounts for their five cars, drivers, petrol etc. He said there was time when he did films going on scooter but now that situationn is not there. He added that just because a film collected more collections, it will not become a good film. He said the films that get crores of collections are hit films and they are not extraordinary films. He said people will watch small films if content is good and pointed out films like Virupaksha, Samajavaragamana etc.
He added that Tollywood market is impacted with top production houses bringing even small films with huge budgets. If the same films are made by small producers, the films would be completed in just half the budget. He said if the budgets of the films are not according to the market of Tollywood, producers will be in trouble.
