Ruhi Singh who won Miss India 2011 made her Tollywood debut with Mosagallu. The film starred Manchu Vishnu and is helmed by Jeffry Gee Chin.
Ruhi Singh, speaking to scribes said “People think winning a pageant opens every door, but that’s not entirely true,” and continued “While it does open doors in the form of options, it doesn’t guarantee work, not even close. All it guarantees is a moment of visibility. After that, you start from zero again,”
About pageants, she said “only a structured route to achieve my dream of becoming an actor”. and said “There’s always been a stereotype that if you come from a pageant, you’re ‘model material’, not acting material,” she explains. “People like to put you in a box based on how you speak, how you look, how you present yourself. But that box had nothing to do with the kind of actor I wanted to be, or the kind of actor I am.
