Kollywood star Suriya is known for his versatile and impactful performances. He is currently starring in a straight Telugu project under the direction of Venky Atluri. The film will be releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil and it is progressing in fullswing.
According to the latest the film is in the final stages and is nearing completion. According to the latest, the makers are planning to release the film on 1 May 2026. The film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead while Raveena Tandon is playing a powerful role.
Radhika Sarathkumar is playing an important role in the film for which music is tuned by GV.Prakash Kumar. Reports have it that the makers are considering Vishwanathan & Sons as the film's title. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are producing the film under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banner.
As the film is slated for 1 May 2026 release, the makers of Suriya's other films changed their plans. As such Karuppu will be releasing on 26 Jan 2026 as Republic Day special advancing its release from 14 April 2026 (Tamil New Year day). Suriya's 47th film under the direction of Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan is also slated for 2026 release.
