Tamil superstar Ajith has a massive fan following and a string of blockbuster hits, though a few setbacks have dotted his journey. His latest summer release Good Bad Ugly turned out to be the biggest hit of his career, reigniting interest in a reunion with director Adhik Ravichandran. The project is ready to roll, yet an official announcement remains pending.
The holdup stems from Ajith’s demand for a record‑breaking remuneration. Producers were willing to offer around ₹150 crore, but the actor is said to be seeking a much higher amount, making the venture financially risky. Consequently, several producers have expressed interest and then withdrawn.
While Ajith enjoys star status comparable to Vijay and Rajinikanth in Tamil Nadu, his market reach outside the state is relatively limited. Moreover, OTT platforms are no longer paying the high digital rights fees they once did, further squeezing the film’s business potential.
These factors have pushed the total budget of the Ajith‑Adhik film past ₹300 crore. The steep remuneration demand has inflated production costs, leading to repeated delays in the film’s announcement and launch.
