Adah Sharma says half of the nation wanted to kill her. Adah Sharma captured the imagination of all with her powerful and intense performances in films like The Kerala Story and The Bastar: The Naxal Story.
Sharing her experiences, she said "Half the country wanted to protect me and the other half wanted to kill me and both groups seemed equally committed," she says, and adds: "I feel If it is not bold, bizarre, or slightly dangerous to my career, is it even worth doing?"
She is now starring in the legal drama 'Reeta Sanyal Season 2'. She shared "I started with '1920', which I still think is my bravest film – for the world to see me for the first time and see me look and act like that (possessed) in an industry that, I was told, stereotypes you. My choice has always been the script, role, people who I have to hang out with for the next 4 months and mainly instinct."
About her upcoming legal drama, she added "Reeta Sanyal is a fictional character in a show which is larger than life and in a fantasy, action, adventure, comedy genre. The apprehensions and concerns are taken care of by real-life legal teams. They are extremely careful. They chopped off a song sequence where I was wearing green shoes in court. We had worn it to show Reeta is a rebel, but they were afraid someone would put a case on them."
She revealed "They cut out a lot of comedy in case it would hurt the sentiments of anyone. The action was toned down because it is not an adult show. My concerns are, I hope they leave some of the funny stuff. But on a serious note, I do my part as honestly as I can and leave the rest to the universe and the real-life legal teams."
