Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for his next epic project, Mahavatar, a film based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, directed by Amar Kaushik. As part of their preparation, both Kaushal and Kaushik have decided to quit non vegetarian food and alcohol to ensure complete focus and dedication to the film.
The duo plans to start their prep with a grand pooja ceremony towards the middle of next year. Kaushik has already adopted a strict sattvic diet, while Kaushal will follow suit after wrapping up Love And War. This lifestyle change is a mark of respect for the divine role of Lord Parashurama.
Currently, Kaushik is working on the pre visualization phase of Mahavatar, while Kaushal is busy with Love And War, which has been delayed and is likely to miss its Eid 2026 release. Mahavatar is expected to go on floors towards the end of 2026 and release in theaters in 2028.
Interestingly, Kaushal's co star in Love And War, Ranbir Kapoor, has also decided to quit alcohol and non veg for his upcoming film Ramayana, following a strict sattvic diet and meditation to get into character.
With their dedication and spiritual preparation, Mahavatar is poised to be a landmark film in Indian cinema, exploring the life of the legendary Chiranjeevi Parashurama.
