India creates history winning Womens World Cup 2025. India's Women In Blue created a history and scripted a new chapter in the annals of the world cup by winning the World Cup for the first time.
This is similar to the Kapil Dev winning the world cup in 1983 against the mighty West Indies. India won the finals by winning against South Africa by 52 runs. In the Finals, South Africa set a target to win 299 in the 50 over’s, could only score 246 all out in 45 over’s.
Right from the start Indian bowlers bowled a tight line and except for few midfields and dropped catches, the players fielded like tigresses. Just like the Indian openers, South African openers Tanzim Brits and Laura Wolvaardt came up with the 50 runs partnership in just under ten over’s. Amanjot Kaur's direct hit ended their partnership.
Laura Wolvaaardt continued fighting like a lone warrior leading from front as the Captain becoming the highest rungetter in this world cup and she was supported by Luus (25) and Dercksen (35). But Laura Wolvaardt after scoring a calm and composed 100 got out in the 41st over with the scoreboard reading 220/7 virtually ending the contest.
Deepti Sharma got 5 wickets and came up with an all-round performance while Shree Charani bowled a tight line and got one wicket. Shafali Varma, who got the golden opportunity due to injury to Pratika Rawal turned out to be the golden girl turning out to be the trump card as she got 2 important wickets.
Earlier in the rain delayed finals, put into bat India scored 298/7 with Shafali Varma scoring 87, Smriti Mandhana scoring 45 and Deepti Sharma a run a ball 58. While Shafali Varma won the player of the math, Deepti Sharma won the player of the series for her consistent perforamances. Congratulatory messages started pouring in from all quarters and entire nation started celebrating the victory. All the players and coach and support staff turned emotional and there were happy tears all over. Congratulatory messages started pouring in from all quarters.
