Rajinikanth Shifts Focus to Family Friendly Films

Superstar To Avoid A Rated Films

Rajinikanth's latest film, Coolie, received an A certificate, limiting its appeal among younger audiences. Despite a strong opening, the film struggled to maintain momentum due to its violent content and adult themes. This experience has prompted Rajinikanth to reassess his film choices, opting for family friendly entertainers with action elements.

Rajinikanth is now collaborating with director Nelson, known for his work on Jailer, on a multi starrer film featuring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. This project promises to be an exciting, wholesome experience. Sundar C has also pitched ideas to Rajinikanth, who is considering various scripts. This shift in direction comes after Coolie which is an A rated film. It was the first A rated Rajinikanth film after 36 year gap since his last A rated film, Siva (1989)

Rajinikanth has decided to avoid A certificate films and gangster or violent themes, focusing on family entertainers with his signature action style. This change is evident in his denial of the Lokesh Kanagaraj project. With Nelson's Jailer 2 in post-production, Rajinikanth is exploring new opportunities, prioritizing projects that cater to his diverse fan base.

Coolie marks a rare instance of an A-certificate film in Rajinikanth's career, joining the likes of Pudukkavidhai (1982), Ranga (1982), Naan Sigappu Manithan (1985), and Urkavalan (1987). This experience has influenced Rajinikanth's decision to focus on more inclusive, family friendly content, ensuring his films appeal to a broader audience.
