Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv's latest release Bison directed by Mari Selvaraj which released during Diwali is getting good reviews at the box office. The film's Telugu version is releasing tomorrow on 24 October 2025.
The film is based on real life incidents of Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan, Arjuna Award winner. BJP leader Annamalai posted "Dear brother Mr. @mari_selvaraj has directed the film Bison Kaalamadhan, and I had the opportunity to watch it. He has delivered a wonderful, emotionally charged film. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to him and the film crew."
He continued "Brother Mr @mari_selvaraj has brought before our eyes the problems a village youth faces in achieving his dreams, the challenges he encounters, and the society-related complications - all of it. In many scenes of the film, I was able to emotionally relate to it personally."
Annamalai remarked, "Brother Thiru @mari_selvaraj has beautifully portrayed the life of Thiru Manathi Ganesan, the Arjuna Award-winning Indian Kabaddi player. His achievement did not come easily. The hero from our soil, Thiru Manathi Ganesan, who is an example of having to overcome the height of the fences society places in many ways for a youth aspiring to achieve, has had his history beautifully captured. Furthermore, he has expressed his deep wish for social harmony in a manner that everyone can accept."
He showered praises on Dhruv saying "One can feel that the lead actor, Mr Dhruv, has dedicated himself entirely to this film. I need not say anything new about the acting prowess of brothers Mr Pasupathy and Mr Lal. All the actors have showcased their wonderful talents. Kudos to everyone."
