Kantara Chapter 1 Worldwide Box Office Collection

Kantara 1 Opening Collection

Rishab Shetty's spiritual action drama Kantara Chapter 1 has made a significant impact at the Indian box office, raking in approximately ₹65 -75 crore in gross collections on its opening day. The film's impressive performance can be attributed to its strong appeal across multiple languages, with the Kannada version achieving maximum occupancies throughout the day.

The Telugu version secured the second spot in terms of occupancy, followed closely by Tamil and Malayalam. The film's regional breakdown reveals promising numbers, with Karnataka grossing over ₹20 - 25 crore, including premieres. The Telugu states contributed around ₹15 -18 crore, while Kerala's gross stood at approximately ₹6 crore. Tamil Nadu's gross was around ₹5 crore.

Notably, the Hindi version, although slightly disappointing in terms of occupancy, still managed to contribute significantly to the overall collections, with estimates ranging between ₹17-21 crore. The film's opening day collections have not surpassed recent notable releases making it the biggest Dussehra release to date.

With its strong opening, Kantara Chapter 1 is poised for a successful run, although it fell short of the ₹100 crore mark due to potentially inadequate promotional efforts. As the word of mouth is positive and the film is registering good numbers especially at B and C centers in South India indicate the film will have a very good long run, eyeing 200 crore gross by its first weekend.
