Mohanlal Hridayapoorvam Faces Backlash from Doctor

Hridayapoorvam Faces Controversy

The Malayalam film 'Hridayapoorvam' starring Mohanlal has faced criticism from Dr. Haris Chirackal, the head of the urology department at Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Chirackal expressed his concerns over the film's portrayal of organ transplantation, stating that it trivializes serious topics without proper understanding.

In a Facebook post, he wrote that the film does not show the necessary care that a person who has undergone an organ transplant should take, and that "everything is just a joke". Dr. Chirackal highlighted the importance of post-transplant care, emphasizing that patients are vulnerable to infections from people and animals. He also stressed that accidents and fights should be avoided after an organ transplant.

The doctor took issue with the film's depiction of the heart, stating that it is simply an organ that pumps blood and has no "feelings". He clarified that his criticism is not meant to malign the movie, but rather to point out the medical inaccuracies. Despite his concerns, Dr. Chirackal mentioned that the movie is good, but the scientific awareness of the people and the credibility of cinema are lost by distorting science.
