The film has received widespread acclaim, including a nine minute long standing ovation at Cannes 2025.

"Homebound" is a powerful story about friendship, dignity, and survival, set against the backdrop of two childhood friends chasing their dreams of becoming police officers. The film has been praised for its storytelling and performances, earning a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and securing the second runner-up position for the International People's Choice Award. With Martin Scorsese serving as executive producer, "Homebound" is all set to represent India at the 98th Academy Awards.
