Popular Tamil Comedian Passed Away

Tamil actor-comedian Robo Shankar passed away at 46 due to multiorgan failure and severe gastrointestinal bleeding. He was undergoing treatment at GEM Hospital in Chennai after collapsing on a film set earlier this week. Despite intensive medical care, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he breathed his last on Thursday at 9:05 pm. Shankar's demise has sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry, with fans and colleagues mourning his loss.

Shankar's career spanned over a decade, with notable roles in films like Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, Maari, Singam 3, Viswasam, and Cobra. He was known for his unique robot-style dance moves and comedic timing. Born in Madurai, Shankar began his career as a mimicry artist and later transitioned to films, earning the nickname "Robo" for his signature dance style.

The actor's family, including his wife Priyanka and daughter Indraja, an actress known for her role in Bigil, are mourning his loss. Industry stalwarts like Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar have paid their respects, with Haasan sharing a heartfelt poem on social media. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also expressed grief over Shankar's demise, acknowledging his contributions to Tamil cinema and television.
