Two shooters involved in the firing outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani's house in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, have been killed in an encounter. The incident occurred on September 12, 2025, around 3:45 am, when two assailants on a motorcycle fired approximately 8-10 rounds at the residence, occupied by Patani's family members, including her father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani.
A joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell, UP STF, and Haryana STF led to the identification and elimination of the shooters, Ravinder from Rohtak, Haryana, and Arun from Sonipat, Haryana. Both were active members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi network. The gang claimed responsibility for the attack, citing alleged derogatory remarks made by Disha's sister, Khushboo Patani, against Hindu religious figures. The police recovered guns, cartridges, and a motorcycle from the spot, and further investigation is underway to trace other gang members.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, directed immediate action in the matter, and the state government has reiterated its zero tolerance policy towards crime. Disha Patani's father, Jagdish Singh Patani, appreciated the police's prompt response and assured safety measures for their family.
