Marco Sequel In Works Title Registered As Lord Marco

Marco Sequel Update

The makers of Unni Mukundan's blockbuster film Marco have registered the title Lord Marco at the Film Chamber, sparking rumours that a sequel is in the works. Despite Unni Mukundan's earlier announcement that he won't be part of the sequel due to negativity surrounding the project, the production house Cubes Entertainments has confirmed that discussions about the Marco series are still ongoing.

The sequel, tentatively titled Lord Marco, is likely to continue the story of the ruthless gangster Marco, but without Unni Mukundan in the lead role. Fans are now speculating about who could potentially replace Unni Mukundan in the film. Director Haneef Adeni and Producer Shareef Muhammed are moving forward with the project, and the production house has stated that they firmly believe the journey of Marco holds immense potential.

Marco, released in 2024, became a massive hit, earning ₹100 crore worldwide and becoming the highest grossing A rated Malayalam film. However, the film faced criticism for its excessive violence and gore, leading to its ban from TV and OTT platforms. Despite this, the film's success has paved the way for a potential sequel, with the makers determined to explore the universe further.
