The Bengal Files to hit the screens in West Bengal

Finally TBF sees light in Bengal

Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files which didnot release on 5 September 2025 though it was released across the world, will be seeing its first screening in Kolkota on 13 Sep, 2025.

This first screening will be invitation only affair at  Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Bhasha Bhavan within the National Library. It is known that the film witnessed unofficial ban in the state as the state government headed by TMC and CM Mamata Bannerjee felt that it will instigate communal violence.

This forced the Pallavi Joshi, actor in the film to write to President Droupadi Murmu. The film revolves around the pre Independence Era when Muslim League gave call for the Direct Action Day in The state of Bengal.

The screening will be a closed door affair and the theatre owners are not yet keen to screen the film to the public in the state.
