Manchu Vishnu pumps huge amount for micro dramas. Manchu Vishnu who recently came up with the devotional entertainer Kannappa is now decided to take his creativity to new heights. He decided to pump huge budget and come up with micro dramas as he feels this will be the future of the film industry.
He is planning to invest Rs 100crs into these projects and all these are short films with duration of 3-7 minutes and it will be mostly mythological dramas. He is set to team up with young Telugu directors to realise his dreams.
The project is already in pre production and sources say talks are on with the OTTs for the streaming. Originating in China as a form of duanju, they are low-budget, high-return, viral content that exploded in popularity with the rise of short-form video platforms like TikTok.
These addictive series which operate on a pay-to-watch model and cater to short attention spans are now a significant global market and represent a growing trend in digital entertainment that could influence future content strategies.
