Hrithik Roshan and NTR's spy thriller "War 2" has picked up pace at the box office, raking in an estimated ₹110+ crore net in India over its first two days. On its third day, the film earned ₹35+ crore net, taking its domestic total to ₹145 crore. Despite a slow start on its opening day, "War 2" bounced back strongly on day two, thanks to the Independence Day holiday boost. The Hindi version saw a significant 50% jump on day two, despite lukewarm reviews.
The film's success can be attributed to the chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and NTR, who play the lead roles. NTR's presence has been particularly impactful in the Telugu states, where the film has earned over ₹35 crore in three days. Globally, "War 2" has crossed ₹200 crore gross in three days globally.
"War 2" has seen varying occupancies across different regions, with stronger performances in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. The film's Hindi occupancy stood at 31.42% on Saturday, weaker than day two. Meanwhile, Telugu version reported averages of 42% on day three, respectively. Despite not meeting the benchmarks set by SRK's "Pathaan" and Salman's "Tiger" series, "War 2" is faring better than many recent Bollywood flops.
Hrithik Roshan and NTR took to social media to thank fans for their love and support. Hrithik expressed his gratitude, saying that watching celebrations in theaters made his heart "fuller." Jr NTR echoed similar sentiments, calling the audience's love "incredible."
