AP government gave green signal for the extra shows and also hike in ticket rates and many expected that even Telangana government will give permission for the same.
However, T-CM Revanth Reddy acted against it and exhibitor from Telangana came in support of Revanth Reddy. “Revanth Reddy garu has done the right thing, especially when audiences are already shying away from theatres due to steep ticket rates,” he said. “How can we justify hiking ticket prices for dubbed movies? This is a good beginning.”
He pointed out the Coolie ticket rates are Rs 200 in Tamil Nadu while it was hiked more than that in AP. He added “The Telangana government also declined permission for special shows, which is another welcome step, since fan safety is paramount,”
He said “Widespread criticism on social media, with many questioning the need for price hikes—especially for dubbed films—could have also influenced the decision,”
