Hike in Ticket Rates may act negatively. The change of guard in AP and TS, enabled the filmmakers to get hike in ticket rates, permissions for special and benefit shows, early morning shows for their films.
In Telangana benefit shows came to a standstill for sometime after Pushpa The Rule tragedy, but in AP, benefit shows and hike in ticket rates continued as per the wishes of the filmmakers.
Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu got permission to double the ticket rates in AP and in TS, they got permission to hike and benefit shows due to the film's historic backdrop.
But when it comes to whether the distributor, buyer and producer benefited, here is the hard reality.
They made good money with the benefit shows, one day ahead of the film release but ever since the negativity spread, it impacted the film's performance as the occupancy in theatres fell drastically. It got more negativity with the benefit shows, than that of Guntur Kaaram.
Family viewers at once decided to back off due to the negative talk and also high ticket rates. Though they have a soft corner for Pawan Kalyan and love him, they decided not to spend Rs 300 or Rs 500 in single screens and multiplexes. The makers got a shock as they planned to make huge bucks with increased prices during the weekend as the weak talk impacted it.
