All eyes are on Mohan Lal and Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 3. Excitement is on as the makers announced that the film would be made simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi also with Venkatesh and Ajay Devgn in the lead.
Recently reports came that the director Jeethu Joseph warned the Hindi makers of legal consequences if they start the shoot earlier. Jeethu Joseph, reacting to it, rubbished all those reports.
He said "The reports are totally false and are false and a media hoax...I have not spoken anything like taking legal action etc. We don’t need to take the legal route. No such situation has ever risen, simply, because they contacted us as they wanted to discuss some story idea with us."
He added "We are not dubbing the film in Hindi. It's going to be like we dealt with the previous parts, they will buy the rights, will read the script then they need to make necessary changes according to the geographical/cultural necessary changes for their audiences. After that they will shoot in their own languages. While the Hindi rights of D3” are going to be bought by Panorama films. And the Telugu version is being bought by Suresh Babu."
He revealed "Recently, I read reports stating that some legal actions were to be taken ahead, actually there is nothing like that. They told me they had some story ideas they wanted to share with me. I told them that I have already started working on my own story so they were waiting to read my script. I met producer Kumar Mangat’s son director Abhishek Pathak in Cochin. He said he is just waiting for my script. There are no issues between us. We are in regular talks and have no issues at all."
He continued "Recently, Abhishek Pathak, was in Cochin as he had come for some other meeting. We had also met then. He had asked about our script’s present situation. To which I responded it may take another one or two months. So, they are waiting for me to finish the script as it will take one or two months, everything will be settled amicably with no issues between us. As further for the Hindi version- after they take the rights from us then, they have to make certain necessary geographical/cultural changes. Obviously, they cannot re-make it exactly."
On Drishyam 3 climax, he added "“Drishyam 3” Malayalam version is not yet completed. We haven't planned anything yet because only the first half of the script has been finished. I have some reworks on it and will be finally polishing it. Also, it all depends on the dates of the actors. Our cast and credits are almost complete. After that we have to discuss with the Hindi film producers. A lot of things need to be finished before we go on floors with D3."
As to when the project will go to sets, he shared "Drishyam- 3 in Malayalam, the rolling date has yet not been decided. We will only set rolling after we are done with the penning of the script which is going to take at least ½ months as referred earlier.”
