ED summons celebrities in Betting Apps case. Betting Apps case seems to be haunting the celebrities. According to the latest, ED is tightening the noose against the celebrities and according to the latest, summoned various celebrities to appear in front of it.

As Such, ED directed Rana Daggubati has been directed to appear on July 23, followed by Prakash Raj on July 30, Vijay Deverakonda on August 6, and Manchu Lakshmi on August 13. ED issued summons after it registered an  Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) earlier this month under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), naming 29 individuals, including actors, TV personalities, YouTubers, and influencers. The probe follows five FIRs lodged in Panjagutta, Miyapur, Cyberabad, Suryapet, and Visakhapatnam for suspected violations of the Public Gambling Act, 1867.

ED booked cases after Telangana and Andhra police registered criminal cases against the celebrities, after it was traced that over ₹50 crore traced as payments routed through influencer marketing and media firms.

Inside talk is that these payments are now being examined by the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department, which is probing whether appropriate GST was levied and paid on such endorsements.
