Alia Bhatt's former secretary, Vedika Shetty, has been arrested for cheating the actress of Rs. 77 lakh. According to the Mumbai Police, Vedika Shetty was arrested in connection with a case registered against her for allegedly forging Alia's signature and committing fraud over a period of two years.
Vedika Shetty worked as Alia's secretary from 2021 to 2024, handling the star's financial documents and payments, and planning her schedule. During this time, she allegedly committed the fraud, which was discovered after she left her job.
The police had registered the case based on a complaint filed by Alia's mother, Soni Razdan. The Juhu Police have booked a case against Vedika Shetty under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). She has been remanded to police custody till July 10.
Alia Bhatt is currently busy shooting for her upcoming film "Alpha", where she will be seen playing a spy. The film also stars Sharvari. In other news, Alia recently shared the first look teaser of her husband Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film "Ramayana" on her Instagram handle.
