Censor Board addresses Brahmins' concerns over Kannappa. Manchu Vishnu is getting ready to take movie lovers on a divine sojourn with his upcoming film Kannappa. The film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh of Mahabharat fame is racing for a grand release on 27 June 2025.
It is known that the film landed in controversy over the depiction of Brahmanandam and Saptagiri. Siripurapu Sridhar Sharma, State President of BCV (Brahmin Chaitanya Vedika) took a strong exception to these scenes and demanded apology from the makers and asked the makers to delete them.
However, Manchu Vishnu justified them saying that he showed the script to the priests and got their permission before proceeding head with the shoot. Recently the BCV approached the Censor Board and Kannappa came before the censor board.
11 members of the Censor Board after watching the film raised objection to the 13 scenes.They told Kannappa makers said that they will process the film for censor only after the removal of those scenes. Following this, Siripurapu Sridhar Sharma,thanked the film for their decision.
