Aamir Khan clarifies on retirement rumours following Mahabharat

Mr Perfectionist on Mahabharat

Aamir Khan clarifies on retirement rumours following Mahabharat. Aamir Khan revealed that Mahabharat happens to be his dream project. Following this rumours are going viral on social media that after Mahabharat, Aamir Khan will retire from the profession.

In the midst of all this, Aamir Khan clarified on the retirement rumours. He said  “Mahabharat is not going to be my last film. Abhi chakkar yeh hain aap kuch bhi bolo, uska wrong meaning humesha nikal aata hai. Mujhse pucha gaya tha aap koi aisi film kare jiske baad aapko koi kaam karne ka mann hi na ho toh voh kaunsi film hogi. ‘Agar’ aap aisi film kare toh. Agar bohot important hai. (The thing is, whatever you say always gets misconstrued. I was asked: if you were to make a film so powerful that afterwards you’d never feel like working again, what film would that be? The ‘if’ is very important).”

He added “Material wise mujhe ek hi cheez nazar aati hai jismein voh power hai ki joh karne ke baad shayad mere mann mein yeh khyal uthe ki bas ho gaya. Maine uska jawab iss context mein diya tha. Logon ko laga Mahabharata meri last film hai. Answer ko theek se sunna chahiye. (In terms of material, there’s only one project I can think of that has the power to make me feel ‘that’s it—my work here is done.’ I answered in that context, but people assumed Mahabharata would be my last film. They should have listened to my response properly).”

Aamir Khan's upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par is slated for release on 20 June 2025. The film is a remake of Spanish hit Champions and is the sequel to the hit film Taare Zameen Par.
