Kamal Kamaraju comes up with a controversial question. Kamal Kamaraju made a name for himself with his role in Avakaya Biryani. He played the role of an auto driver Akbar Kalam. In the wake of the Pahalgam attack, people are furious with the Pakistanis and especially the Islamic names as the terrorists singled out that Hindus and shot down.
In the midst of all this, Kamal Kamaraju speaking to scribes questioned why in Tollywood filmmakers often use Hindu names like Ram or Geem for the heroes unlike in Malayalam and Tamil where they keep Muslim names. He said this shows the makers narrow mind and they cannot broaden their vision. He said they just make the film as if putting stones in a tin and shake it. They will not try to change the tin as they are happy with the same tin.
He went on that the makers however keep Muslim names to the side characters and added that had he been Muslim, he would have been criticised but he added that as Kamal he is telling the same. He went on to add that the makers are in the obsession that they should show a Muslim character abusing Pakistan and added that there are many star directors in Tollywood and it is their job to take a lead.
