The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare classified 170 districts in the country as Coronavirus hotspots and 207 as non-hotspots. Hotspots are the regions that have reported a significant number of positive cases and they will fall under the Red Zone category.

Eight districts of Telangana are declared as hot spots- Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Warangal (Urban), Rangareddy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Karimnagar and Nirmal. The Health Ministry has classified Nalgonda as hotspot district with clusters and not large scale outbreaks.

There are 19 more districts in Telangana that come under the Orange Zone and have been classified as non-hotspot districts that have reported Covid-19 positive cases. These are Suryapet, Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Kamareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jagtiyal, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubabad, Rajanna Sircilla and Siddipet.

Eleven districts in Andhra Pradesh were classified as hot spots. They are Kurnool, Guntur, Nellore, Prakasam, Krishna, YSR Kadapa, West Godavari, Chittoor, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and Anantapur. There is no district from the state in non-hotspot districts category.
