The police who took Venkatrao into the custody could extract little information from him while the other accused  confessed to the crime at the behest of Venkatrao who allegedly offered them hefty amount.

City Commissioner of Police Rajendranath Reddy personally interrogated Venkatrao on Wednesday and learnt to have obtained definite clues from him. The interrogation centred round the phone calls received by Venkatrao's mobile in the recent past. With the information given by Venkatrao, the police may question many suspects in the case.

As usual the police created a drama when Venkatrao was taken to the Government hospital for medical check-up on Wednesday evening. The patients were surprised at the way Venkatrao was brought to the hospital with heavy police security. A patient, Veeramma, said why should such a criminal be given police protection. The police had a tough time in controlling the angry women, who were ready to pounce upon the accused.
