Speed up relief operations in flood-hit districts: Naidu

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (TNN): The Opposition and Telugu Desam Leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday criticized the government officials and Ministers for not taking relief operations effectively in flood affected districts.Talking to media persons at the party office, the Opposition leader said that the Ministers are only paying lip service and they don’t have any knowledge in taking relief operations.He alleged that the government has miserably failed to take up relief operations in flood affected areas.He appealed to officials to intensify rescue and relief operations in flood hit areas as water receding many parts. He asked the officials to take up repair works to embankments and bunds from where the flood water was leaking.

He demanded that steps be initiated to expedite the enumeration of losses incurred by farmers and provide relief to all those affected. The party also sought crop insurance to the affected farmers.On the occasion, Mr Naidu flagged off the lorry carrying relief material worth Rs 11 lakhs collected by party senior leader Talasani Yadav to flood victims.The Opposition leader would tour flood hit areas in Krishna, Guntur, Maha
