Rajamundry, Sept 19 :

 The Third Additional First-class Magistrate of Rajamundry court on Saturday remanded D Janaki Matta Rajesh (25), a worker in a petty shop, who allegedly tried to slit Nalla Anusha throat with a blade for spurning his advances and killed her parents Srinivas and Satyavati, at Lalithanagar on Thursday night, to judicial custody up to October 1.

The police had a tough time to produce Rajesh in the court as the woman organizations and student leaders staged a sit-in dharna in front of Three Town Police Station demanding the government to take stern action against the guilty. However, under the tight security, the police produced Rajesh in the court and it remanded him to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the victim Anusha, who was undergoing treatment at Government General Hospital, was recovering fast and her condition was stable. The District Collector and Superintendent of Police visited the hospital and enquired about her health with the doctors.
