When Allu Aravind announced a project on Ramayan everyone got super thrilled as it was announced on the Pan India level and Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari roped to helm the project. The announcement was in a lavish manner and a budget of over Rs300crs was allocated and rumors spread that the makers would be roping in Mahesh Babu, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead role.

But when Allu Aravind announced Mahabharat in 3D with Disney+ Hotstar, speculation increased that Allu Aravind must have shelved his Ramayan dreams. But speaking to scribes, Allu Aravind said Ramayan is very much on. He said the pre-production work has been going on for more than a year and the regular shoot will start in 2023. Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra would be bankrolling the project.

Speaking about stars' rivalry, he said people should realize that Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, NTR and Ram Charan are best friends and do not have any rivalry between them.
