In wake of widespread Coronavirus pandemic in India, an interesting argument has been raised by some psychologists. According to them, some news channels that have been on day and night duty to threaten people with Coronavirus disease are the main reason for the rapid spread of the pandemic.
"Fear of disease is called 'Nosophobia'. These so called news channels made people panic about the disease with nonstop reporting of the spike in cases and deaths. This overboard action of the channels made most of the people suffer from 'Nosophobia'. This in turn affected the immune system of the individuals which ultimately resulted in inclining towards the disease. Had media not done this overaction, people could have developed better immune system and could have ensured the pandemic contained effectively," analysed a psychologist.
A channel named 'Eight Next' of Telugu states and many other channels at national and state level are spreading 'Nosophobia' disease among people. Hope, news channels will not harm the society anymore.
