Stars Okay, OTTs Scaring With Demands

All the big plans of releasing the films from this week got dashed with the Union Government extending the Lockdown till the May 3rd. Few producers to come out of this situation are now planning to streamline their films on OTT platforms.

Popular OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Zee 5, Sun NxT, Aha, EROS etc. are trying to bag the upcoming films ready for release offering fancy rates.

However, though the producers are ready to sign the deals, stars are not keen on these deals. Buzz is top stars are unhappy with the conditions set by the OTT platforms.

They are coming up with the conditions that before the release of films on OTT platforms, stars should promote their films. It is known that film stars, directors promote their films ahead of the film releases on theatres. OTT platforms are demanding similar things to release their films through FaceBook, Newspapers, etc. and the expenses should be borne by the makers.

Stars told them that they will promote their films for theatre releases but not for OTT and this is leaving the producers in a quandary.

Producers are in a huddle on releasing the films on OTT and how to convince stars and the directors on promoting the films and other OTT conditions. If OTT platforms are not forcing stars over publicity, then the problem would be resolved amicably.
