Prabhudeva As Chandrababu In Biopic

Biopics are an interesting genre. Artistic liberty lets the filmmaker add a dash of masala to cash in on the popularity of the real-life person on whom the movies are made. Tollywood has had its share of biopics and Kollywood filmmakers too are taking up biopics on popular actors and politicians. Already biopics on MGR and Jayalalithaa are in making stages. 

Tamil actor-director Parthiban is planning to make a biopic on veteran actor JP Chandrababu. Parthiban completed the script work quite some time ago and had registered it too. Another Tamil filmmaker K Rajeshwar is also coming up with a movie on Chandrababu. Prabhudeva is likely to play the role of the yesteryear actor in this biopic.

Chandrababu was known for his western influence in his comic timing and songs. He was also an excellent dancer and during his heydays, he even got remuneration on par with Sivaji Ganesan and MGR.

Chandrababu faced a huge loss when MGR got dropped from his own production venture Maadi Veetu Ezhai. He had to sell his bungalow and all his wealth to clear his debts. The legendary actor died due to poverty and prolonged illness, he was also said to be addicted to alcohol consumption due to his failed marriage.
