When Kangana Ranaut’s period film Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi, a biopic on freedom fighter Jhansi Lakshmi Bai was launched under the direction of Krish, many expected that it will be another feather in the extremely talented actress’ crown. However as days progressed and the turn of events now are casting aspersions on the film’s quality and content.

Manikarnika is supposed to release on 25th Jan 2019. However the film may not hit the screens on scheduled date as there is lot of post production activities yet to be completed.

Trouble started when director Krish silently shifted his focus to Natasimha Balakrishna’s prestigious biopic on his dad NTR and Sonu Sood walked out as his role was trimmed after director is changed. Though Krish remained silent on the developments of Manikarnika, producers’ version of going for the reshoots of many scenes filmed by Krish on Sonu Sood and Kangana taking over the mega phone came as a shock to everyone.

One of the actor revealed that lot of work is still spending and post production and special effects are yet to be done. Inside talk is even the CG for the epic battle sequence is still pending. Kangana is said to be insisting on shooting the battle scenes once again after she took over the mega phone. This is turning out to be a costly affair and also time consuming.

Seems like, Manikarnika’s release will be pushed to summer and the question is will the makers find buyers for the film as production cost increased due to re-shoots.
