Top writer of tollywood, Kona Venkat, surprisingly announced a movie which titled 'Shankara Bharanam'. He also tweeted the movie would be made as a crime comedy with Nikhil Siddharth as the hero. Hearing this title, some of the Telugu pundits raised their eye brows, as they could not get the meaning of the title.&nbsp;
'Shankarabharanam' can be divided into two words as 'Shankara plus Abharanamu' (Sawarnadeergha Sandhi) and the meaning of the word is an ornament of lord Shankara. The slow pace tend to put off viewers as the scenes are predictable till the entry of Suriya.The narration picks up pace with the entry of Suriya and the spiritual elements generated curiosity. The conflict attracts all and though the interval block is routine, the first half ends on a decent note. When one expects a better second half, the narration turns cliched and screenplay goes for a toss. The comedy scenes looked outdated and dragged the narration to the next level.The pre climax is good but inspired by films like Kantara and Pushpa but lacked the strong emotions associated with them. RJ.Balaji followed the similar template in Veerabhadrudu which he did in Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman except for few variations.The songs tuned by Sai Abhyankar had Tamil flavor. The only saving grace is he included usage of technology in tracking the clues and merging of the videos to prove the sinster design of the criminals. Ravi Babu's screenplay and direction offered nothing new. While the first half though predictable is racy, the second half loses steam during the flashback episode.The background score added value to the narration. It is thumping and helped in maintaining the intensity levels. The Cinematography is in sync with the story and the Narration. Editing is quite good except for few scenes in the second half. He added mass elements and double-meaning dialogues to appeal to B,C centres. He drew inspiration from the films like Ek Mini Katha and others. He took the core point from such kind of films which viewers were treated with earlier and added mass elements to attract.
Few scenes in the first half may appeal to masses but even they cannot sit through all the drinking scenes at the start. The second half turns out to be a patience tester and pre climax turns out to be little decent before the film comes to a happy ending. The story turned out to be routine and predictable and screenplay turned out to be uni dimensional and convenient. Direction followed the familiar traits.
Suresh Bobbili's background music is according to the story and the narration. The songs are situational and didnot make much impact. He tried to blend humor and thrills but failed on both fronts. He starts the narration by introducing the protagonist's family as a different one by adding a hilarious touch. However nothing excites. None of the character arcs appeal to viewers as they just pass through the motions and most of the scenes miss logics and had artificial flavor.
The comedy of Sivaji, Laya and Roshan didnot workout as the scenes lacked the strengh and the role of Prince turned out to be silly. Director Sudheer Ram's story, screenplay and direction turned out to be weak and disappointinng. While the first half has routine elements, the second half fared no better as it had artificial elements and this tested the patience of the viewers. Preclimax and Climax turned out to be even more silly.

Many such stories came earlier and right from the start till the finish, the script is loaded with artificial elements and illogical scenes. Even on OTT this wouldn't have worked and the makers took a bold decision going for the theatrical release. The makers should have scrutinized the story and script and reworked on the writing before proceeding ahead with the project. Reba Monica John played the role of the ACP.&nbsp; Her role is used just to take the story forward and she didn't get much scope to show her talent. She just passed through the motions.&nbsp;

However once the mysterious deaths start happening screenplay is in place and the narration picks up pace. Following few cat and mouse games between the hero and the villain, the first half ends with interesting but predictable twist. The second half also continues in the similar manner and the film finally comes to an end bringing the much needed relief to the viewers.&nbsp;
The screenplay is even and uni dimensional for majority of the part. Director tried to come with an investigative thriller, but the so called investigation turns out to be farce. Police are shown as puppets and ACP as a dimwit. Even the race between hero and the villain to go after each other donot excite anyone.
People are witness to such scenes since the olden days and those who expected something new will be completely disappointed. Director missed many logics in the narration and most of the scenes looked silly and even school kids will be laughing instead of getting excited.
Vidya Sagar Chinta's cinematography showed the scenes in a realistic manner. He used the lighting to perfection to show the night scenes in an interesting way. He used the colour combinations accordingly to show the variations in scenes.&nbsp;
Kaala Bhairava with his background music elevated the scenes according to the narration. The editing of Sreekar Prasad is decent except for few repetitive scenes here and there. Production values of Light Box Media, Picture Perfect Entertainment are good.&nbsp;

S.Saraswathi story is penned by Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. Varalakshmi planned to touch the contemprary and the burning topic of atroticies on women and how justice is denied to them. She tried to add the medical disorder in order to add surprise element to the proceedings and the investigation process.
Initially at the start, this looked interesting but in her effort to thrill viewers taking them to the new heights, she overdid it and altogether in the end, it turned out to be a laughing stock. Except for the so called medical disorder, everything turned out to be routine and predictable. After the so called surprise elements, viewers can predict everything and this turned out to be the biggest backdrop.
While the story turned out to be routine and monotonous, even the narration and screenplay turned out to be repetitive making it a tedious watch to the viewers. The first half comes to an end with a predictable twist and when one expects a better second half, it turns out to be a disappointment.
With the surprise element coming out, Varalakshmi started beating around the bush and the preachy dialogues in the pre climax and climax didnot inspire any confidence. Finally, S.Saraswathi's good intentions got diluted due to Varalakshmi's over enthusiasm and the flat screenplay and direction.
Thaman's music and songs though situational acted as speedbrakers. His background music is in sync with the story. A.M. Edwin Sakay's cinematograhpy is good and showed the scenes in a realistic and believable manner.

Finally the film ends in a predictable happy manner. Screenplay looked forced and the direction treaded in an aimless manner.
Amarnath's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many scenes that looked out of sync and unnecessary to the proceedings. However, he couldn't be faulted as the story itself turned out to be weak. VRK Naidu's cinematography is as per the story and did justice to the scenes. The music is tuned by Rishi is turns out to be average. Songs at times acted a speedbrakers. The background score is ok. Dialogues are artificial and so too are most of the scenes. Production values are just average.

Altogether, Son Of turns out to be a patient tester. Sai Simhadri tested his luck as the lead actor as he himself turned out to be the main drawback. Director Bathala Satish tried to attract viewers highlighting the father son relationship. But the weak story, forced scenes, over the top dialogues and performances of the actors, ended up as a nightmare to the viewers. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1 rating for Son Of.
