Popular Character artist Adusumilli Janardhana Vara Prasad aka Ahuti Prasad breathed his last on Sunday , 4th January, 2015 in a private hospital in Hyderabad due to cancer. He is survived by two sons Bharani and Karthik. He was 57.He was born on January 2, 1958 at Koduru of Krishna district of AP. 

Ahuti Prasad made his tollywood's debut with Nagarjuna's debut film 'Vikram' and was shot to fame with 'Ahuti'. Thereafter, he acted around 120 films as a character actor. He essayed the roles like father, uncle,brother etc. of hero and heroines. He was also seen as a police officer in 60 films. While he was running a lean pace of his career, Nagarjuna's 'Ninne Pelladutha' gave him a big break. He turned as a comedy and character artist from 'Chandamama'. He received best villain award for 'Nenu Ninnu Premisthunnanu' in 2003. Gunasekhar's 'Rudhramadevi' is the last movie of Ahuti Prasad, which is slated for release this summer.

Visitors will be allowed to see him tomorrow morning between 9 and 11. His last rites will be performed at SR Nagar's cremation ground tomorrow. His demise is a great loss to tollywood. Cinejosh pays deepest condolences to the members of the family of Ahuti Prasad. May his soul rest in peace.
