9th May is not only a special day for Megastar Chiranjeevi but also to the 81 years of tollywood history. Chiranjeevi's 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athikoka Sundari' and 'Gang Leader' were released on the same date and different years and proved to be industry hits. Check out the details of these movies.

JAGADEKA VEERUDU ATHILOKA SUNDARI: This movie was released on 9th May, 1990. All India glamour queen Sridevi paired up with Chiranjeevi in this socio fantasy movie. Ilayaraja scored the music of this project. 'Abbanee tiyyanee debbaa' song from this movie had become a decade's super hit song. Other songs like, 'Yamaho nee yamaa yamaa andam', 'Priyathamaa' etc. songs were also prooved to be super hits. This movie ran for 100 days in 29 direct centers and collected an all timer record share of Rs.6 crores.K.Raghavendra Rao directed this movie under the banner Vyjayanthi Movies.

GANG LEADER: This movie was released on 9th May, 1991. Vijayasanthi was seen opposite to Chiranjeevi. This movie stood as the best example for pukka mass entertainers. Chiranjeevi's punch dialogue, 'Cheyyi choosaavaa entha rough gaa vundo.. rough adisthaanu' was the most popular dialogue those days. Bappi Lahari composed the music of this movie and gave all super hit songs for this movie. Songs like, 'Vaana vaanaa velluvaye', 'Gang leader', ' Vayasu vayasu' , 'Sunday ananuraa' etc. rocked the chart busters those days. This movie ran 100 days in 31 direct centers and collected an all time record share of Rs.7 crores. Vijaya Bapineedu directed this movie under the banner Syam Prasad Arts.
