Tollywood filmmakers highrisk promotions backfiring

Tollywood producers and filmmakers are spending a bomb for film promotions and many say this highrisk strategy is not paying rich dividends.
A senior producer cautioned current generation saying "Actors and directors need to be careful. Certain comments can easily backfire and invite unnecessary criticism," and added . "The problem with overhyping a film is that it creates unrealistic expectations. Sometimes the promotional statements become bigger talking points than the film itself."
There are many examples when Rajendra Prasad promoted the films as never seen and predicted blockbusters and now the makers of Rao Bahadur are promoting the film in the same manner comparing Satyadev to Kamal Haasan.
Vishwak Sen and Priyadarshi alreo promoted their films in the similar manner but the results turned out tobe completely different. The producer says "Tollywood has seen numerous cases where promotional hype backfired after release, while only a handful of films have truly justified such tall claims,"
He adds "Today's audience values strong content more than pre-release rhetoric. Filmmakers and actors would do well to let their work speak louder than their words."
