Mass Jathara, Ravi Teja’s latest action drama hit theaters on 31 Oct 2025 but was pulled after just a week due to weak box‑office collections, leaving the film’s producers, Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments, in a financial crunch. The movie, directed by debutant Bhanu Bhogavarapu, stars Ravi Teja as a railway police officer, Sreeleela as the lead lady, and Naveen Chandra as the antagonist, with music by Bheems Ceciroleo.

With theatrical revenue far below expectations, the team turned to the digital market, and Netflix secured the streaming rights early on. However, the OTT deal has now hit a snag, the platform is pushing to lower the agreed price, citing the film’s poor performance, while the makers insist on honoring the original terms and have even requested an early streaming date.

Producers say OTT platforms now tie payments to a film’s box‑office outcome, often deducting a share if the movie underperforms, a condition that has sparked the current dispute. Sources close to the production reveal that Netflix has already begun renegotiations, and other platforms have shown little interest given the film’s trolling and  losses estimated at ₹20 crore. While some reports suggest a possible release in the third week of November, no official date has been confirmed, and the producers are considering alternative buyers to minimize further damage.

The standoff highlights the growing trend of OTT giants conditioning deals on theatrical success, putting additional pressure on filmmakers already reeling from a flop. Fans remain hopeful that a resolution will be reached soon, allowing Mass Jathara to finally reach audiences on Netflix or another platform.
