Mahesh Babu's upcoming project SSMB29 with Rajamouli is the most awaited project across the world. The film is generating immense interest among movie lovers as it happens to be Rajamouli's first after the sensation of RRR.
The film stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead while Prithviraj Sukumaran and Madhavan are playing important roles. Rajamouli is renowned for visual extravaganza and now inside talk is he is coming with the most expensive set in the history of Indian cinema.
Rajamouli recreated the Kashi set along with the ghats and temples in Hyderabad and for the entire set a whopping Rs 50crs was spent. The leaked images of the Kashi set is going viral and captivating everyone. This is the highest sum spent for the single set in the Indian film history.
Earlier Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas set held the record for the most expensive set. The kotha of Chandramukhi in Devdas cost ₹12 crore back in 2002. Similarly, Bajirao Mastani, Heeramandi, Baahubali, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, and Thugs of Hindostan all spend ₹15-20 crore on their biggest sets. Anurag Kashyap also spent crores in recreating 1960s' Bombay in Sri Lanka for Bombay Velvet.
The makers of Prabhas' The Raja Saab built world's largest indoor set which spread across 38000 square feet, the set took 6 months to make. However the cost of the set was unknown.
