Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the first phase of construction works of MLAs Quarters on the premises of Old MLAs quarters at Hyderguda in the city.
After performing Bhoomi puja, the Chief Minister told reporters that Rs 50 crore had been sanctioned for the construction of MLA quarters. The construction of quarters would be completed in two years, he stated.
Minister for Roads and Buildings Galla Aruna Kumari said 220 quarters would be constructed in each phase. She said the contractor had been told to complete the project in a time-bound manner.
Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Chakrapani, Minister for Tourism, Information and Public Relations J Geetha Reddy and Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, MLAs and MLCs from Telugu Desam and Left parties also participated in the programme.
