Members of Justice Srikrishna Committee, arrived here on Thursday amid protests and sloganeering from students and protestors asking the panel to get back.

Telangana lawyers and activists, who staged a protest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, made it clear that they were not interested in any Committee but they just wanted a separate Telangana state.

The police force stationed at the airport quelled the agitators and brought the situation under control. The Committee members under heavy police escort drove straight to the Lake-View Guest House where they are being lodged.

Even at the Lake-View Guest House, the students of Telangana Joint Action Committee shouted slogans against the Committee. The police arrested some of the protestors in order to bring the situation under control.

Justice Srikrishna, who is heading the panel, is expected to reach Hyderabad later in the day to join the panel members.

In honour of the Comittee, Governor ESL Narasimhan is hosting a dinner on Thursday night. Chief Minister K Rosaiah and leaders of all recognized political parties in the state are expected to attend.
