TRS wins five MLC seats, Congress gets one

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi won five out of six MLC seats under MLAs' quota, for which polling and counting was held on Monday. The Congress party won the remaining one seat.

TRS Candidates - Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, K Yadav Reddy, Nethi Vidyasagar and B Venkateshwarlu won the elections. Similarly, Congress candidate Akula Lalitha too got elected as MLC. TDP candidate, Vem Narender Reddy, lost the elections. While the detailed results are still awaited, sources say that six MLAs have opted for 'NOTA' (None of the Above) in the polling, which is suspected to had witnessed cross voting.

Hundreds of TRS activists, including State Ministers, celebrated the victory at Telangana Martyrs' Memorial at Gun Park. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy himself raised slogans of 'Chandrababu Naidu Go Back'.
