With less than 24 hours left for the polling, Jai Samaikhyandhra Party candidate Sabbam Hari announced his withdrawal from the contest from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.

Making the announcement here on Tuesday, Sabbam Hari said that he was withdrawing from the contest to avoid split of votes. While extending indirect support to TDP-BJP combine, he said it would be in the interest of Seemandhra if NDA forms the government at the Centre and TDP-BJP coming in the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. With the Supreme Court refusing to grant a stay, he said that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was inevitable. In such a scenario, he said his aim was to protect Visakhapatnam.
