Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader Etela Rajender has condemned the State Government's decision to allocate Bayyaram mines to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here on Thursday, Etela said that allocation of 5,342 hectares of iron ore mines in Bayyaram and other places to the VSP would adversely affect the Telangana region. He alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was giving away Telangana resources to Andhra people.

The TRS leader also accused the Chief Minister of having failed to resolve the drinking water crisis. He said that the Chief Minister was frequently visiting New Delhi to protect his seat. Instead of politics, the Chief Minister should have discussed the drinking water and power crisis with the Centre and should have brought Central funds to resolve the crisis.

Etela also defended the TRS move to attract Congress MPs and other leaders. Any leader who is sincere about formation of Telangana is welcome to join the TRS, he said adding that those joining the party with an eye on seat would be discouraged. He accused the Congress party of creating confusion among the people over the plans of some leaders to join the TRS.
