Minister for Primary Education S Sailajanath on Saturday said that the Seemandhra leaders have passed a unanimous resolution appealing the Centre to keep the State united.

Talking to media persons after emerging from a meeting of Seemandhra leaders held at MLA Quarters following reports that the Centre was likely to take a decision on the Telangana issue, Sailajanath said that the leaders from Seemandhra have opposed the division of State and decided to meet Congress High Command to voice their concern. He said that the dates for heading to New Delhi would be finalised after convening a meeting with the MPs soon. He said that the elected representatives from Seemandhra regions also discussed the future course of strategy to be adopted over the bifurcation of State.

The meeting also decided to take up bus yatra in region to create awareness about the consequences of division of State. However, some members have opposed it as it might provoke the Telangana leaders.

Six ministers including T G Venkatesh, Kondru Murali, Ganta srinivas, SM Ahmadullah, 24 MLAs and 7 MLCs attended the meeting.  Rayalaseema leaders, JC Diwakar reddy and Minister Erasu Prathap Reddy did not turn up for the meeting.
