The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Saturday accused the State Government of deliberately ignoring the power projects of Telangana region.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sircilla MLA K Tarakarama Rao said that while gas was being supplied to the power projects of Seemandhra regions, projects like Shankarpally and Nedunur projects were completely ignored. Accusing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of trying to close the power plants in the region, he said when gas could be supplied to plants owned by private companies, why the government was not showing seriousness in starting the Genco-owned power plants?

Tarakarama Rao also announced that his party would not allow the construction of Polavaram project as it was detrimental to the interest of Telangana region. He alleged that several works of Polavaram project were being executed without taking proper clearances from the authorities concerned. He said that the party would wage a legal battle to stop the Polavaram project.

The TRS leader said that the gas supply and Polavaram were the two big examples to prove that injustice was being done to the Telangana region. He said that the issue of increase of less number of medical seats in Telangana region compared to Seemandhra was completely ignored. Despite several assurances, neither the Chief Minister nor his cabinet colleagues spoke about it with the Centre.
