Centre may announce Telangana by September: TRS

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Thursday claimed that it has received some positive signs from the UPA Government over the decision on the Telangana statehood.

Talking to reporters at Telangana Bhavan, former Lok Sabha member B Vinod Kumar said that the TRS was expecting a decision in favour of Telangana State by September. However, he threatened to intensify the movement if the government resorts to delaying tactics on the issue.

Responding to Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram's call for 'Telangana March’ on September 30 to re-launch the movement for separate State, the former MP said that the TRS would take a decision on the issue after discussing it thoroughly with party seniors. “So far we have not taken any decision on 'Telangana March' as we have received positive signs from the government over the statehood issue,” he said.

However, the decision on supporting the `Telangana March’ would be taken after consulting the TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, he stated.
